PRVIM Head and Tail Stretches

PRVIM Radial VIMs

PVIM

PRVIM stands for Phoenix Radial Vibration Isolation Module.  In the industry common terms for these types of devices are head elastic, tail elastic, head stretch or tail stretch.  A Radial VIM differs from a PVIM in that is is constructed from a high strength fibre and rubber composite jacket containing a fixed volume of fluid or gel that is pressurised when the VIM is loaded.  Some operators use radial VIMs in medium duty head stretch applications but experience reliability and durability problems with the most commonly available design from other manufacturers.  Phoenix has been able to offer these customers an interchangeable alternative that features a more robust jacket and improved jacket terminations and has proven to be a more reliable product.

Phoenix has also developed a Radial VIM tail stretch design as a cost cost effective solution to tail buoy induced noise.
